Default Need some help installing Jackpot header...

Can't seem to get things lined up correctly. Also, when I can get a flange on the posts, there's hardly any threads to get the nuts going. The flange seems to be too far from the exhaust port. Isn't it the header supposed to seat inside the exhaust port? This one seems to just butt up against it. Thanks in advance for the advice...

yes the flange is supposed to go inside but you will have to kind of fiddle with it to get it all lined up and at least get the threads started. I remember when I did mine, I started with the most difficult bolt to line up and get started and did that one first. I did the head pipe and SE slipons on my bike and did my SE heavy breather all in one day. The head pipe was not difficult to line up but i did have some issues getting a tool into the forward most header bolt to tq it down. what I did was just get everything lined up and all hardware started and tq things down from front to back. i know the header bolts have to be torqued in sequence so take your time with it. if its not lining up properly, your best bet is probably to call fuel moto and see what they say. other than that, take your time, get everything started at least 2 or three threads and then tq from there. DO NOT TIGHTEN ANYTHING UNTIL YOU GET ALL THE HARDWARE STARTED. AT THAT POINT IS WHEN YOU GO THRU AND TIGHTEN UP EVERYTHING TO SPECS. especiall the header nuts. good luck.

The flange on the Jackpot is not tapered like the OEM one so it does not go into the head nearly as far and therefore fewer threads come through the nut. This is normal. Make sure you have removed the old gasket and if you can start both bolts on the flange you are good to go. Just tighten them to spec and don't worry about how much stud thread comes through the bolt. Re-torque after your first good run. If you continue to have problems getting them lined up, give Jamie a call at FM and he will walk you through it, very helpful. There will also be a trick to getting your heat shields to fit just right. That is another story, but it can be done with time and patience. Jamie can help you with that as well.

Thanks. Are you saying that I'm supposed to remove the gasket? I replaced them with new ones.

If you are installing new ones the old ones need to come out.

Right. I took out the old and put in new. Can't enough bolt threads to get nuts on. Head pipe doesn't go inside exhaust port at all. The flange is much thicker.

Yes the old gaskets should be removed and replaced. Did you replace with stock gaskets? If you put in Screaming Eagle gaskets your flanges will not fit.

I'll buy the header from you for what you paid for it. Problem solved.

Are you sure? Jamie from FM said they would work fine.
Thanks
