Default 10k service but............

I changed all my fluids right before I hit the 10K mark on my road king. Now, I would really like to bring the bike into a shop to get the 10K inspection done....but am I going to hear a song and dance about them NOT doing the fluids? Also, how much should I expect to pay for this service?

Thanks.

That's the majority of the service changing the fluids...

Get the checklist and do everything else yourself, might take two hours.

The cost of the 10k service is not worth it. Basically they change the fluids, check or change the spark plugs, check the tightness on the drive belt, check the clutch cable, check the brake pads and brake fluid. You can do all that yourself especially with the help of the service manual. You already changed the fluids yourself so you're more than halfway there. My buddy just paid $400 for the 10k service! Highway robbery!

Checking the bike over is the simplest and best way to catch things on your bike because only you really care about the details.

A lot of folks believe you should keep your receipts for the fluids and the filter (dated), just in case.

The theory being it shows proof you did the service, should you have warranty issues.

Not taking sides on that debate, but it couldn't hurt.

Otherwise, as said above, just do it yourself...(the rest of the check, anyway.)

I can't remember which dealer website it is but Google harley service checklist. They have the checklist the techs use available for free to print out. I print then and staple my receipts to it for my service records. In other words. Do it yourself.
