Storage
My bikes stay in an unheated attached garage. I fill the gas tank and add fuel stabilizer. I also use battery tenders for the bikes and cover each with the HD premium indoor cover. I get condensation on my garage floor in the spring when the ambient air temperature is warmer than the ground temperature. To help with this, I keep a 16" oscillating fan running in the garage year round. The fan helps alot.
Good luck.

I have a quick question about short time storage for those in the know. I will not be riding the bike for 2 months at a time. When I return, I will ride almost everyday for a month weather permitting and repeat.
What do I need to be aware of? The bike will be parked in a attached garage. I purchased a bike cover for it and since I am here in AZ, I'm not concerned about humidity/ moisture chrome issues. I am in the process of getting a battery tender for it as well.
Do I need to add stabil to the fuel? What about getting the bike up off the garage floor to protect the tires? Thanks for any advise.

Lonewolf, I would add stabil (cheap insurance) and it wont hurt the bike to be parked for 60 days on the tires just park it on a barrier between the concrete floor and the tires. Put er on a tender, cover, full up with gas and she will be just fine for 60 days. OP, every answer that you have been given has been right on the money, I am a pro at storing my bike because of all the damn deployments I go on. Full tank, stabil, tender, up on a jack or park on a barrier, breatheable indoor cover, fan circulating or light bulb to keep down on moisture, another trick that hasnt been mentioned is to coat the chrome with WD-40, that will protect it also. Dont start it until you intend on riding it, causes more problems lettin it run for a few mins and not riding it. Last but not least 30 DAYS LEFT OF SUCKING SAND WOOHOOOO!!!!!!!! My goal is to look like this a few hours after I get home

Definitely StaBil in the fuel or if it is ethanol fuel, one of the other treatments for that. I don't know that two months will hurt anything with the tires, but you could put a couple pieces of carpet under the tires, or if you have a jack put it up on that. Mine stays on a jack most of the time because it takes up less room and is easy to scoot out of the way (Sears red jack, no tie downs, no problems!
)
I work overseas so my bikes often sit for long periods of time in the garage (3-9 months depending).
I cover it, fill it with fuel, stabilizer in the tank, battery tender and put it on the lift up off the tires. I came home one time and had some nice flat spots in the tires that took some riding to get out.

Lots of good advice here...
Thought you might also want to consider something like this... Moisture/condensation WILL corrode your bike in short-order...

Thanks for the intel guys. Im on a two on and one off rotation right now and I just got back here in Iraq yesterday. The dealer has the bike now to complete some things that were left unaddressed on my last deployment so it will probably be there for at least the first 30 days I would imagine. The last 30 on this go round will most likely be in the garage so, I will end up having a buddy swing by, put in on a jack and follow the directions you gents have provided. much appreciated.
my67pnycar6, I know how you feel on the last 30 days. When I got home last time, it was either a hand full of throttle or a handful of beer and whiskey! I just got back in county yesterday so its 59 days to go for me. You and FullujahFF keep your heads down over there and ride hard when you get home.
LW out.
