I recently ordered a set of fairing lowers for my bike and am thinking of pairing them myself. I can get an entire aerosol kit with color, primer, clear. I'm looking for any tips, advice from anyone who has done their own paint on their bike (inner fairing, lowers, etc). Is this a good idea to paint myself or am I better off taking it to someone to do it for me?

if its something you want to look like the rest of the bike, have a local body shop spray them.

if you dont mind a possible less-than-perfect job, do it yourself. the key is prep.

sand, wash, dry, prime, base coat, second coat, clear, wet sand, clear. light coats are a must

i did my fork lowers on my nightrain and they looked great

Decided to take them in to be painted. Would cost as much to buy the paint as to have them done. May for the inner fairing myself sometime though.
