Default Inner Fairing Dash Prevention

I painted my inner fairing and put new bars on and when I do put my 3 pouch windshield bag back on I do not want it to rub the paint off the top of the dash. Whats the best way to prevent this? I was thinking to just have the windshield bag up a little higher where you thread in the bolts. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Most people use some sort of tape under the pouches to let the pouches rub or set against. I have seen several different types of tape used, but I do not have the bags so I am not aware of the best type.

Recommend you take a look at the clear film the aftermarket provides to put on the top of the saddlebags to prevent scuffs. You could use a piece of that, cut to fit, to protect the paint from the pouch.

Dump the purse.

Just kidding, the 3M paint protection film should work great.

That's what windshield bags do...scratch and mar. That's why I don't use them anymore.

I put nickle size felt furniture pads at the rub points, but the 3m film sounds good too

I dumped the purse when I got the inner painted. It will scratch the inner. The 3M will work but I wouldn't try to remove it if it is on for a long period of time.

I got rid of the bag. Looks better without it.
