Default stupid Winshield question

I have a 2004 Roadking custom. Its time to put a windshiled on her. I am buying the
Road King® Custom FLRSHI Windshield Docking Hardware Kit 58221-04,

my question is Can I buy any windshiled, memphis shades or JP cycles....ect. or do I need to spend the $300+ for a harley davidson shield?

And if so Can I get some IDEAS????

Mike

Yes, you will need the docking hardware for the windshield. The windshield itself can be bought from various vendors, but you still need all the hardware.

If I were looking to add the hardware and shield I would be looking at the classifieds here, local craigslist and EBAY first, at least for the windshield and framwork. At least in my rural area I see a few for sale for the road kings at a decent price often below 100 bucks within an hour drive. I would go to the dealer for the docking hardware to make sure you get all the parts. But that is just me, I am a cheapskate.

I would do the Craigslist for the windshield too. I have seen them as low as $50.00 around me. And then http://longrideshields.com/xcart/home.php?cat=251 for a new windshield.
