On top of the family discount, the west coast discount, the Street Glide discount, the HDForum's discount AND the Tequila Sunrise bike discount, I got an extra discount after I promised to destroy the invoice once I received the shocks and never mentioning a price for them. Whew! That's a lot of discounts! But they weren't free . . . .

#3- $700.00 damn I could have bought progressive shocks.
Or different air shocks. Now I have a bike that rides and handles.
Thanks Howard.

It's not really about price. If it was then none of us would have bought the Ohlins. It was more about getting a replacement shock that was of top quality without compromise and one that was going to work as we wanted after dialing it in with Howards help.

Went with the #6 myself on my CVO Ultra. Got a good deal from Howard plus a ton of knowledge behind it. Worth it in the end.

If I rememeber correctly, Ohlins #2's are around $600 shipped. The JRI B's are a bit less than $800...

The one thing that impressed me, was Howard worries about putting you in the right shock, not the most expensive shock he can get you to buy. I was budgeting about $1800 to get the top-of-the-line Ohlins, and Howard recommended the JRI "B" shocks based on my riding profile. Those delivered are $790, and I am not a family member.

So, take everyone's advice, call Howard, let him make a recommendation as to which shock is the right shock for you. Then worry about price.

Hi from the UK and welcome to HDF. There is no pint mentioning prices of a purchase that was made say a few months ago, as prices may have changed. In addition there are several versions available, also Howard has recently started offering an alternative brand, in addition to Ohlins, so there are lots of options.

All it costs is a phone call to find current prices and to talk with a true expert on suspension (and a lot of other matters). Howard will help you decide which shocks fit your budget and riding circumstances - and custom build them.

I'll try again... PC died last time..

I talked with Howard yesterday for 40 minutes. He wanted to make sure that "I" had the knowledge to make the decision on what to buy. Oh yes. He sure helped, but it was help in understanding the differences in shock construction and different configurations. We also talked about the different brands he sells. Again, he didn't drive me toward a particular brand or style, but explained each in great detail. At the end, it was obvious what was right for me.

Give him a call. You won't regret it and you may just learn a few things you didn't know before. Also, the discounts are quite generous to forum members, but you should talk with him about...

I ordered my 13" JRI "B" shocks from Howard today. Should have them this week. Howard is a stand-up guy and a wealth of information. Give him a call. Be prepared to spend some time on the phone. He will spend as much time as necessary to make sure you understand how to make a smart decision on what to buy.
