Well I have a chance to trade my 10 street glide for an 08 Ultra....
My glide has 12k miles on it and the Ultra has 8k on it....what are your opinions?
My riding is mainly to/from work and a 200-300 mile ride on weekends that I am not working. I think the street glide books for 2 k more.... I'm all ears, lets hear what you think.
Troop
There was a problem with the 07 twin cam transmissions. Some described it as a 5th gear whine, other described it as a clatter. I'd describe it as a clatter. The problem was the way HD cut the gear (non-helical) combined with a less than ideal comp. MoCo put a bandaid on this in 08 with the so-called, "cush drive". The cush drive is a rubber mounted rear wheel pulley. I'm not sure the year HD made a permanent fix inside the tranny, 2010?
Yeah, the bigger frame is an advantage on the 2010.
I agree fellas, a trade would be a bad idea. I am thinking that the tour pack is a better option. What do you all think about the miles on my glide? With 12k on the clock, should I be sinking money into it or keep it as is and save the cash for a trade in a few years? I was told to keep it regardless of the miles, unless the mo co comes out with big changes???

12K miles is nothing! It's just broken in. I wouldn't hesitate to invest in the tour pack if that is the real motivator for a trade.
