I worked in hospital for a while as the night security supervisor. Part of the job was accounting for every person in the hospital, including people that had passed. When you see someone else that has passed, part of you passes with them. It's the life force that we all share as human beings together.
You have to learn to let go. And that's tough, because all of your instincts are to hold on as tight as you can. Once you've experienced what you have, there's no turning back. Kind of like virginity, you can't undo it. Miss them.
