That's a tough call for a lot of SG guys that want 10's. I've never heard of anyone using 10's and being able to keep fairing mirrors.

These mirrors seem to give me more rear view than the fairing mirrors did. I like them a lot.

Yep, fairing mirrors would be useless with these bars.

I'm doing this in April when I get home, is there any chance of using the stock grips? I read somewhere that you can polish up the levers to look better too. I'm probably just reuse those and powdercoat them next winter.

but I'm guessing the 12" bars would work with the fairing mirrors? and I'm not a fan of the bars above the fairing look. guess ya can't have it both ways.....

I removed my stock grips without wounding them. Was planning to inject air with an air hose but don't think I actually did. Think I just twisted and pulled till it let go. Success may depend on how much glue the guy happened to use on each bike grip as it roles through the assembly line.

I've read that a bunch of guys have success with 12's and fairing mirrors. I don't like the above the fairing look either. Since you otherwise seem to want 10's I'd suggest trying real hard to find some handlebar mirrors you like.

yep Dew, that's my plan. but I'm going to see how the fairing mirrors are before I switch to handlebar mirrors. but definitely sticking with the 10" MBB's and I'm 6'5" so the theory of the taller you are the taller the bars should be ain't happening with me.

Getting ready to install mine this week. Quick question, I'm undecided on mirrors at this time, can I install them after the bars are installed or will the fairing be in the way of screwing them in?

I'm 6 ft. and maybe a tad more. Height didn't dictate for me either. Although I am looking at lowering my seat 3 inches. I know you hate bar mirrors, but I will tell you something: My Yaffes put those mirrors EXACTLY where I needed them. I couldn't believe a mirror could be in such a perfect spot functionally. I do want to replace them with a better looking mirror at some point but there are things higher on my list.

Fairing won't be in the way.
