A year or so ago, I installed an HD riser mounted radio on my 09 RKC. The radio that I purchased came with a RK mount kit and riser cover. The riser cover for the radio had a cutout on top to accommodate mounting. I had to modify my 09 riser cover by creating a similar cutout.
The distance between for the handbar cutouts on the side to the center of the steering lock opening on the 09 riser cover was different from the 08-earlier. In other words when you place the 08-earlier riser cover on the 09 where the handlebars are positioned through the side of the cover openings, the steering lock opening does not line up.
