Dust is the devil, never realized how much there was to keep clean on a bagger till I got one. Leaf blower never seemed to work for me. I use it for drying the bike after washing it though. I'll try the quick wax spray and a detail towel

Pledge was changed and doesn't shine like it used to it makes a mess on painted surfaces. I would just stick to the detail sprays & waxes & polishes.

The dust in the desert is fine sand. If you follow the above advice about regular waxing and careful cleaning with the best towels you're probably going to find it impossible completely avoid swirl marks.
The most important thing is that it will still look great as long as it's kept clean and waxed. Don't make yourself nuts over it. It's virtually impossible to avoid all swirls if you intend to ride it. Also, I have found the small California Duster works pretty well as a between wax duster. Besides, everyone knows that black is the best color.

I live on a gravel road that is over a mile long, so I know about dust, I use a swifter when I get to the end of my road to remove the dust. I usally wash and wax my bike weekly, I had a Vivid Black RK, but I traded it for a 2013 EG limited, Ember red and Merlot, so yea even that shows up the dust pretty good. You should see what my bike looks like after I drive down that rode after a rain shower passes by.

One of your neighbors here, Dawn to strip, Black Box to clean/wax/detail, Cali Duster, and a spritz every now and again...and yes I ride, 60+ miles 5-days a week.

Living in Phoenix, you probably don't have a leaf blower.
Do you have a compressor?
You could use that to just blow the dust off.
Gotta be faster that washing and drying.
maybe

Good luck!

Compressors blow fine mist of oil. Not a good idea.

Compressed air won't work to take off the dust. I have a big compressor that has inline water and oil filters.. The dust is too fine.

The best thing that I have found is Bike Spirits from Cycle Gear. Comes in a pinkish/purple spray can & a lightly damped micro towel. It works great on an unpainted fairing, too.

I use a 50/50 mix of peroxide to get off any bugs, then spay a little on the rag and gently wipe, no muscle is needed.

About once a year give it a good rubdown with swirl remover to get out any scuffs.

I keep the fairing and tank covered when it's in the garage. It helps to keep the dust off of it, especially during monsoon season.

PS... I have never needed to wash my bike with water a hose. Not that I'm against it, I just don't ride if rain is in the forecast.

try this Waterless Wash from Adam's .... I use it on my bike between full on soap and water washes and it works great. It has more lubricant in it than a spray detailer and is most likely more compatible with the paint finish than pledge. Follow this up with a spray detailer and the bike will be looking awesome.

I tried a "waterless wash" one time and was not very happy. The brand name escapes me at this moment. I've decided to quit obsessing about my black bike and just ride it! No matter what you do, it is dirty after a few miles anyway so WTH! (if I keep telling myself this, I hope to one day believe it and come to grips with the pains of owning a black bike!! lol)

Mine gets dusty just sitting in the garage. I have a pole barn so it isn't as sealed as a traditional garage. For dust all I do is spray it down with water and dry it with a leaf blower. Ten minutes tops.
