Getting ready to get a set of these for my 06 Street Glide. Whats your opinion on the performance of these tires? Thank you. Had Metzler 880s on , they have quite a bit of road noise.
They ride nice and you should get good miles out of them. Pumba11 I noticed some hum but only when I made right turns, after reading some posts on here about bearings I looked at my front wheel and my right side bearing is loosing its grease now I am wondering if it is the tire or the bearing doing the humming.
I commute year round, so I get it all weather-wise. I liked the 880's but on the "chip n tar" asphalt I rum on out here in the country, the Metzelers never gave me more than 7500 to 8000 miles on the rear tire.
The E-III's however, ( now on my 3rd set,) give me around 14,000 rear and 16,000 front with handling every bit as good as the 880's.
( Just ordered another rear last week and Jake Wilson had the best price: MU 90-16 for $127.99 delivered.)
The wife and I both have them on our bikes and love them. I felt my first tar snake yesterday in over 10,000 miles, but that was more like a ditch in the lane. Excellent wet, dry, dirt, traction, I did see the new Metzler 888 on motorcycle superstore and really liked the looks of it. E-3 is a great tire though.
