I have been running a popular 8.5 in sheild on my 09 Street glide for several years..never really liked the tallish look ..but it works, no buffeting, glasses stay in place, stereo sounds good..Has had a wallow at high speed. I bought a new set of mounts for the rear (swingarm) figuring they were worn (38000 mi), Havent installed them yet..The other day, Put the 6.5 on for shucks and giggles, went for a ride, and walaaa, no shake..hmmmm..took it well above a hundred..no handling ills, buried it plus, and nothing whatsoever...Anyone else experience this ? Kinda weird, by the way the 6.5 is like no sheild at all to your face...but looks damn good and handles awesome...Obviously it is aerodynamic, just didnt realize so much is affected by the windsheild...My 2 cents...Scooter
Im using a 6.5 recurve. I'm 5-11 and see over it and the wind is deflected over my head. Perfect for me but if you ride two up you will need a taller shield to avoid passenger buffeting. My girl bitches

hate to break it to you but alot of them do and life goes on
I have noticed a difference with different shields also, especially on the interstate. I had a CeeBaileys Super step contour, LRS X-stream and LRS recurves in different heights. At one point I had about 10 shields. All of them affected the handling of the bike differently. The most stable seemed to be the SBSSC and the LRSX shields.

I have a 6.5 and 8.5 in Klockwerks. The 6 looks better, and I can't tell too much difference between it and the 8 wind wise, but the 6.5 does not allow for the fairing mounted GPS. The 8.5 was high enough to interfer with my vision, so I lowered the 8.5 until the curve would just clear the GPS and now I have the best of both worlds. Lower look without sacrificing the GPS mount.
