Ok, I know this has been covered 101 times. But since I just got my 2012 Street Glide I would like to know what the "best guess" is on HP? Stock? with the stage 1? All I am asking is ballpark. I know NASA has the actual locked up in the desert near Roswell N.M.
Not as much as it should have for the size bike it is. I've senn them range from 68-74 in stock form, all dynos are not created equal, and as stated earlier stage I will give you about a 10% increase.
Formula for computing horsepower:
:: Torque x rpm ÷ 5252 = horsepower
For computing torque when horsepower and rpm's are known:
:: Horsepower x 5252 ÷ rpm = torque
My 12' SG was 73.99 HP and 90.62 Torque from the factory after a very careful break-in.
The Kuryakin High Five Mach II air cleaner and Vance & Hines Big Radius 2-Into-2 exhaust, and Screaming Eagle Race Tuner brought those figures up to 85.8 HP, and 99.21 ft/lbs on the torque. That is with the V & H pipes stock, with no baffles added. I have since added the Thunder Monster QQ baffles, and will be doing another dyno tune in the spring. I expect there to be a few more HP and ft/lbs due to the slight back pressure increase from the baffles.
