Default Worth the trip to York....?

I will be heading down to Savannah for St. Paddy's Day and trailering my bike to also ride around the area. I am considering stopping at the York PA. HD plant on the way back and take the steel toe tour. For those who have been to the factory your advice or feedback on your experience would be very much appreciated. Just trying to see if it is worth getting off the route and spending the extra time, thanks.

I've been there several times; it is well worth seeing. The steel toe tour takes you into parts of the plant that the regular tour doesn't visit. I'd pay the extra for that tour if you don't think you will be back there

I've been through the touring factory 2x, with and without my family, fun either way. It's been a couple of years but going down during York Open House used to get you into the Softail Factory, not sure if that's the case any more. Great way to spend an hour or so to see where you bike was made.

Don't know about the plant tour but I envy you being in Savannah on March 17. I grew up there and that was the biggest and best day of the year. I went back when I was in college and single and it was a fantastic time (what I remember of it).

We did the last tour in the old plant a few years ago and enjoyed it very much. After our tour they were shutting down to move to the new assembly line plant in a different building. I would go, its a fun tour.

As for Savannah, some great riding in the area, but you couldn't pay me to be there for St. Paddy's day. I did it a few times in my 20's. In my 40's that many drunk kids in one area is just annoying..

A buddy and I made the ride down from upstate NY a couple years ago. It was a worthwhile ride and the tour was very enjoyable. I'd say if you'll be in or near the area make the stop. I don't think you'll be sorry.
