Bought a SERT and dynoed the bike again, but I forgot to get the new map that was made. I would like to know is there any way I cansave this map using the data mode or another mode on the sert or will it save it automatically when I make a change in the program.
I don't have time right now to go back and get my map. Thanks.
you're outta luck unless your dyno technician saved it. would be worth checking out. you cannot retrieve the map from your ECU once it is loaded. I wanted to ensure I had the dyno'd map in case the ECU took a dump, or I wanted to change any of the settings (idle, timing, AFR etc) Took a memory stick down and they saved a copy on the stick.
as part of your dyno procedure make sure you ask for a backupdisc any time a new map is installed. That is what you are paying for. Any reluctance on your tuners part and I would go to somebody else.
I might be wrong, but I think the map selected is automatically saved on the disc.
All you need to do is load it in a computer and read which one was selected.
Least ways that's what I understood at my dealer.
Guess I will have to wait and see as bike is back there again.
there is no disc, unless the dealer burns you one. the dealer uses his SERT software to do the map change. only thing you supply is the little black interface box, which doesn't store anything. Hopefully the dealer saved a copy on his computer so that he can burn a copy or save you one on a memory stick.
when I bought mine from the dealer, I got a software disk and the interface module (little black box). Dealer used his cables.

you're right. the sert comes with a disc and a black interface box. the disc only has the actual sert software program and the HD canned maps. if you had it dyno'd, they built a custom map which isn't saved on your sert disc. if they save it for you, it has to be on a separate disc, floppy, memory stick.
Well I haven't looked at my disk to see if they did a custom map or used the canned one.
And if this disk is locked like other disks are then they did NOT record onto it.
But it's a moot point anyway as dealer has bike back again for more of same problem and new ones.
However, the dealer (Thunder Mountain in Loveland ,Co) had a 20% or 40% (I forget which) off parts and labor last October.
The sert and dyno labor came to $560 with tax.
Can't say yet if happy or not as the sert did not correct the base problem I was having with the bike. so we are back to square one. We will see sometime in the next month or so.

Are you happy with the SERT and the performance gained? I would like to hear about it. What did both cost you?

Did you pay for it to be dynoed? If not then you just got a canned map off the cd. To get the most out of the SERT it needs to be tuned to your bike by a dyno tech using harleys software, also make sure they give you the little thing they call the key or you can never adjust or have it adjusted except by them. Some dealers dont offer to give it up, but you paid for it, demand they give it to you.
