My son and daughter-in-law just put their cars on the transport back to the states from Italy this past week. Going to be stationed in New Mexico. They said the same as you that they won't see them until April or May. Heck their household goods won't be here until mid April at the earliest.
Well hope she travels well. Welcome to the retired mil side of the house... spend your terminal leave enjoying and work hunting!! Being there in FL,, well ride LOTS!!!
sounds like you're going to be retiring a little earlier than you first anticipated? well, either way congrats, it's a great feeling to know that you don't have to get up at oh dark thirty, unless you want to
hope your baby makes the trip well, and good luck with your future plans.
Geez, it sounds, like it's taking a lot longer than it used to for household goods and POV's to get shipped than it used to. When I PCS's from Germany to Texas in '02 it only took about 6 weeks for my car to make it. Never shipped a bike, thank gawd, I would have been a worry wort the whole time they had it. Good luck in your retirement.
2. About 18 months sooner than planned for retiremnt but after 33 years with GE it's a good time to go. Only reason I'm still here was to have one more go around in Europe on the company dime.
3. Long time to get the bike, but by choice. Shipper will store the bike for two or three months till I tell them to send it. Being a civilian contractor I have to ship the bike on my dime. Even though I am here on SOFA neither the US gov or GE will pay for the shipping. If I had known I was leaving early I would've waited till back in the USA to buy. Oh well, with all the shipping costs probably the most expensive stock not CVO 2013 RKC out there.
4. Have to go back to Ohio for a couple months first. Then a leasurley road trip down the east coast and around the gulf to Corpus Christi. My wife is from Thailand and hasn't seen that part of my country yet.
5. after getting set in Corpus, have the bike delivered. A few good road trips, and then winter in thailand. Life is good.
