Default Dragon Fly Fairing USB Problems

I have a Dragon Fly Fairing on my Road-King that i enjoy. My problem is, when i us it in usb mode i will get about a 40 seconds of music and then stops. all the other mode's work great. Does anybody else have any issues like this? and do you correct it.

I had the same fairing with my RKC that I traded in late last year. I did have a similiar issue. I pulled the fairing off since it is easy enough to do, and noticed the connection for usb cord was loose. That being said I had the newer Medallion radio and not the Kenwood radio. I know the Kenwood has the usb port built right into it. I never cared for that design as I was worried that the vibration would damage the usb port. If you have the silver radio that gives you the ability to run a cord back to your saddle bag then check the connection right up behind the radio at the bottom of the fairing.

kanakattk, I think what meist21 was asking you to look at was on the back of your medallion radio, there is a USB plug. He stated that his was loose.

When you pull it apart to look, I would take a pair of pliers and squeeze together the top and bottom metal frame of the connection on the USB cable that plugs into the device. This will make it fit nice and tight.

I've found out that it was the usb drive its self. i tried three types of drives and the SanDisk drive works the best with no problems. and thank you UltraNutz and Meist21.
