Default Best side to mount ipod/mp3 player.

I am going to order a mount from http://www.michaelsstainlessinnovations.com/ and can't decide the better side to mount my iPod nano. I had it on the throttle side but it almost seems like it would be better on the clutch side instead. To change songs on the throttle side I would have to let go of the throttle which was a pain especially when riding in a group. I am leaning towards putting it on the clutch side. The only issue is running the aux cable but I figure I can run it into the fairing through the clutch cable hole and out on the other side to plug it in. Anyone have any thoughts as to the best side to mount an iPod? Where does everyone have theirs mounted? Anyone have a mount from this company?

Don't have a mount from them but I would suggest mounting it on the left side. I've never mounted anything on the right side (just personal preference). I like it on the left side better, and I don't have to worry about letting go of the throttle when I want to change a song. I have my mount affixed to the inner fairing to the left of the speedometer/above the fuel gauge. Even with my phone mounted I can see enough of the fuel gauge to know what the general level is.

I agree with going left side so you don't have to let go of the throttle. I have mine set up the same way. I don't have the mount your looking to use. I have the Rider's Claw but looking at the pictures on the link you posted they seem about the same. The aux cable can be easily ran through the fairing and hidden for a clean look.

Personally I like the left better. Not interfering with the throttle. JR

I'm all about the left too. Never heard of these mounts, does it use the control screws or something? I went with a ram mount so I can put it wherever I want and it works with my iPod touch or iPhone 5.

I believe they use the top screw on the clutch perch or the brake perch if you mount it on the right side. I like these mounts because they are simple and keep the iPod close to my hands plus the price is right and made in the USA is always a plus too. Looks like left side is winning for my choice at this point. Any other thoughts?

I have that same mount on the right side.... Get the one for the left side.... And another piece of advice, make sure you have a good grip of your mp3 player EVERY TIME you take it out of the holder otherwise it can leave a nasty chip in the paint on the top of your tank, Don't ask me how I know this.....................

I have the exact mount. I mounted it on the right side and wish I would have had it mounted on the left side. good mount for a decent price.

Hubby's is on the left - he really likes it there. I had to mount mine on the right becasue my grip heater control is on the left. I stil use my left hand to change songs, but it is probably a bit more awkward.

Save your money and buy the HDPDPLUS, I started with the handle bar mount for the ipod everything about it was a pain changing song and removing when stopped so no one steals it.
The Hdpdplus is the best way to go,everything is controlled with the factory hand controls and it stows away in your saddlebag and it stays charged.
