although it was only on the Sporty and only about a 10 minute ride it was FANTASTIC to have the wind in my face again. I still have to build up my strength to get back on the Ultra as i have been unable to use my left arm like i did 2 years ago before tearing the forearm tendons out of my elbow, but it was another big step in the right direction. I'm sooo stoked!!!
Take your time and be patient. Did total knee replacment Sept 11 and the best day of my recovery was the day I got back on the bike. Was a small bike but it prepared me for the EG. Slow and steady like a turtle.
Like riteway said, take the tour pak off and handling is much better. I installed the quick detach tour pak system on a buddy of mine's ultra and he really noticed the difference in handling getting rid of the high center of gravity. Also, if you don't already have them, get a set of bars that you feel is the most comfortable for you. Best to you on your healing.

Those don't look like stock bars, are they? Again, one bad *** looking bike. Good thing you have another bike to get on... Those bags and the graphics look killer!!!
