Default Hd Extended warranty and oil change??

Hello guys I purchased a used roadking from my local hd dealer last year and also purchased the extended warranty...do te oil changes have to be performed by the dealer or is DIY ok?? I wasn't sure if they gave people trouble if something happens..also the bike has 16k on it and I'm not sure if sun was used or not..is it ok for me to start using Mobil 1 now at this point?? Thanks and sorry for the rant

They can't make you have oil changes done by them unless they are going to supply them free of charge, same for the oil itself, as long as it meets specs.... it's federal law. They can give you crap if something happens if they want to... just save all your receipts and keep good records. Same as you would for your car.

You can change it yourself and be safe under any warranty.

I do this on all oil changes on our vehicles while under warranty. Keep receipts on oil and filters and take pictures showing you changed the oil on the day recorded. I get that days front page of the local paper, set my empties and the filter box on it beside the vehicle and snap a picture. I also snap a shot of the odometer reading to document the miles. If you use an iPhone, and probably other smart phones, it will inbed a date, time, etc. in the digital photo to back you up further.

Yeah, sounds a little **** but if you need the proof, this would be pretty good evidence that you did what you say on the day you said you did it.
