Pick up a HD parts and accessories catalog at your local dealer. I purchased a King Tourpak with color matched pinstripe (pinstripe was a waste on money), wrap around backrest, detachable mount (I already had the 4 point dock), keyed alike lock kit, deluxe luggage rack, upgraded hinges, LED light kit, trunk liner (to hide the wiring) and trunk light (really nice feature at night when searching for gear). I got a 10% discount at my local dealer on all the parts and did all the install work myself. I added on the armrest kit this past fall.

When shopping for a used setup (I looked for over a year) I never saw anything that was reasonably priced. By the time I would have gotten done shipping, painting, adding on and such it would have cost me almost as much. Get a catalog, talk to your dealer about discounts and decide how far you want to take it.

Yes. "King" Tour-Pak refers to the size (Chopped and Razor are smaller). You will find the King Tour-Pak available in "Classic" (no light bar) and "Ultra" (light bar) configurations. You can order in your color, including two-tones, and even match the factory pin striping, if present.

Sample Pricing from the 2013 Parts & Accessories Catalog:

Classic King Tour-Pak (solid color) -- $749.95
Wrap Around Backrest -- $209.95
Lock (Keyed to Match Bike) -- $???
Detachable Mount -- $179.95

Options: Antennas, Lights, Luggage Rack, Speaker Pods, etc.

Just my personal opinion but to me the King tour pac doesn't " flow" with the lines of the SG. Chopped tour pac looks better and can be had with a smaller backrest if "confinement" is a problem for the passenger. Also on the 08 the rear detach mounts for the TP are a pair of big chrome hoops and really "ugly" up the rear of the bike when the pac is removed. My chopped TP is mounted on the factory passenger backrest points with a homebuilt bracket. Got my pac used from the classifieds here.

If you plan to leave it on most of the time, then I suggest getting a color matched TP with the lightbar. Otherwise you might consider just finding a used one of any color and save yourself a lot of money.

I agree with ^^Duraglide^^.... the Chopped Pak is the biggest Pak that looks good on a SG. I just got my Razor Pak on yesterday... when I finish cleaning my bike tonight I will post a pic.

I bought my FLHTCI in 04 - thought the King was just too big... took it off and put on the chopped pack, NOT the razor,,,,

Wife and I have spent up to 4 weeks on the bike, plenty of room and looks fine for me... just the right size, not toooo big and not the pizza box either.

Check with lake side harley for deep discounts and free shipping if over a certin amount..

Had the same issue as you. Ended up buying a $100 tour pak from Mutazu. Ordered accessory winged back rest, but sent it back as G/F prefered the stock included smaller backpad.

Installed the Harley 4 point mounting system, and Harley tour pak bracket.

Bolted on the cheapie Mutazu and was amazed at how well it worked.

It included all the goodies, such as back rest, cable stays, locks, hinges. Complete and ready to go for $100. I added a chrome top rack, and it has worked out just fine.

Looks well integrated for the Street Glide look, and holds both our helmets when we are not packed for a long ride.

My intent was to see if the tour pak was really for me. It spends most of it's time hanging on the wall for when I ride solo, but clips on in only 1 minute when she wants to hop on.

No need for a standard sissy bar back rest, as this does double duty as well.

The Harley trunk is much better constructed, but I was willing to invest the $100 to see if I would really use it all that much.

For me, I now enjoy the convertibility and styling. I did not go with a bunch of lights, dual antenna whips. (My stubby antenna works well enough for me), upgraded hinges, matching locks.

It does not compare to the Harley Brand. I totally understand why most people would want to step up to a unit that matches the quality of the rest of the bike, but for many, this would get the job done, and make for very happy passengers.

I have an 09 ultra and the factory one on. My wife loves it!! But no untill after I moved it back 3 inches. We're fat asses! lol! I had just a sissy bar on the previous bike and it was ok but with the tour pac she is ok with riding on the interstate. And she wasn't before. My suggestion... spend the money...Sombody said something like... " Buy the best you can afford. The excitement of a good deal fades if the quality is lacking"
