So, I have installed the Daymaker headlight, and holy hell does it light up my garage, can't wait to ride with it!
What my question is... When i put the headlight in, the 3 prong connector doesn't have any clips, or protection going on... Should I tape it up, or what did you guys do? Seems that it might get a bit wet from time to time in there, as there is really no positive seal around the headlight... but then sometimes tape just holds moisture in anyway... Whats the general consensus?
I put dielectric grease on the contacts and taped it up. I also ty-wrapped it to the harness there to keep it from floundering around while riding. Not being a Negasaurous, but I hope the light works better for you then it does for me.
@Elqueso What problems have you had? I just installed one myself, and for the price I paid there had better not be problems.
@Fatty I did the same thing as Queso, dielectric grease and taped it up, I was disappointed that for the price of the light that there was not some sort of weather boot for that connection.
The truck-lites have the same kind of unsealed connector, but have about a 4 inch section of wire leads instead of plugging directly into the bulb itself. Just did what Elqueso and FireTex did with the electric grease and electrical tape then zip-tied to the other harness in the nacelle.

OK . . . being late to the show - can someone inform me what is the difference between the Daymaker LED Headlamp (73390-10A) and the older JW/HD LED headlamps (which I purchased in 2011)??

Hey Tex,
I use my older bikes & RoadKing as history of crap that can go wrong. I have had moisture get into the connectors and rust/Oxidize them to the point where they become intermittent. Last trip riding to Sturgis, it just poured on us for 3/4 of that day and I wasn't stopping. By the time I got back home, my tail light and read running lights on the RK became intermittent. I found that grease to be a great deterrent to that.
I also found from vibration (from having 2 rigid frames bikes) that crap just come undone or loose. If it can hose you somewhere down the road, it will.
It's all about tape and ty-wraps and with my Pan....bailing wire....LOL

I cut and soldered mine. I have a Road Glide and the big clump of wires always would get in the way when I put the fairing back on. It seems like I take the fairing off every week for some reason.
