silver lining
On March 2nd, I learned I was invisible. A GMC pickup decided to occupy the space I happened to be enjoying. $6800 worth of damage to my 2011 limited, but the worst part is 6 to 8 weeks wait for painted parts from Harley.
Now for the silver lining. I got the insurance check today, so tomorrow I'm going to trade for a 2013 anniversary Ultra Limited.
I've got 40K on the 11 and they are going to give me Kelley Blue Book for it on trade in.
For once, it was the wife that just had to have the new bike. Usually, it's me that is trying to convince her. She really likes this aniversary Limited.

No, I wasn't wearing a helmet. Smacked my head against a sidwalk, but other than that, I'm fine. I did get a lot of blood on my FXRG jacket, but they are waterproof (bloodproof too I guess) so it cleaned up good. It did get some road rash, but the insurance company is lowballing me on it.
For an old man, I heal pretty quick. I'm doing very well, thank you.

That really is both extremes of emotion! Hope you are fine, although the fact you are looking at a new bike suggests you are! As for that Anniversary model I just love the colour scheme. I don't envy you the accident, but then.......
Not even a little bit. I can think of easier, safer ways to get a new bike.
Glad to hear you came out of it OK. Be careful on that new Anny!
