Default O2 Sensor Question

Are they suppose to be this black? Just pulled them out. Bike has about 8k on it.

as long as there is no check engine light, everything is fine. as soon as one fails or the engine runs too rich for the o2's to adjust the mixture, the light will come on, so I will say all's well, unless.

Yeah. Id say that looks fine. I go with the judgement i use on spark plugs, Carbon is ok but not wet or white.

why are you visually inspecting them anyway? you can't tell anything with a visual. you need to read voltage's and see if the heater is coming on, all done with a scanner. don't worry unless the ck engine light comes on

I was taking the header off for a different reason. Nothing wrong with them...at least no lights going off. Just thought they might look a little on the dark side. But I'm differently no expert at this.

Mine look very similar maybe even a bit whiter tips after 17K.
