Default Installing inner fairing

I am thinking about installing the painted inner fairing on my 06 Ultra.I was wondering how many of you guys have attempted it your selves.I have the service manual and have done various jobs on the bike, but some times it seems a little too much for me to get into.let me know what you guys think and how long of a job it might be.......thanks

Idid the job on my Road Glide with no manual. If you have a little bit of sense it is not that big of a deal. Time consuming but not that hard. one thing I did was get some baggies and mark them as I took off different screws and I also marked every wireing harness before disconnecting which made assembly that much easier.

I have ordered one for my Street Glide also. I am planning on doing the install along with Cyclesmith Dresser SP bars, Chrome Controls, Cruise Control, Hogtunes Amp, and Garage Door Opener.

It should be quite a project. Hopefully I will get some tips before I get started.

I guess I will have to replace all the chrome bezels also.can you reuse any of them?Or is even worth it since they aren't that exspensive?

The chrome bezels come out with the gauges (you DO NOT need to replace them.). I took mine apart, had it painted and re-installed it. Just make sure you have a sharpie and masking tape. Mark all connections BEFORE you disconnect them. Shouldn't take more than 2 hours to remove everything (including a beverage break). Even less time to re-install.

Good luck.

Cool,How about the cables, are they a pain or what?I guess at first glance, looks complicated. Thanks for the pics.I have a bud that will give his SG fairing and lower shroud.I have someone who will paint that one and repair the holes where his mirrors were and custom paint them. This should not be a problem,Right?Fitment, i have been told was the same.Looks like it might be getting closer for me to do this.again thanks for all the inputs............................................ ..Danny

Don't forget to get rid of the antenna for a powered one that you can put inside the fairing. I also changed the gauge light to blue, except the tach and speedo.

How did you change the lights? Was it simply a matter of changing out the bulbs? If so where did you get the replacement bulbs?
