I like slip grip car mounts They have mounts that will adapt most phones in most cases to a RAM mount or other system

For example, I have a Samsung Note 2 in an Otterbox Defender case and they have a mount that will connect to a RAM mount base without taking the phone out of the case. Pull phone out of belt holster, clip into slip grip mount, plug in power cable.

 

I like the look of that. As a keen cyclist too I used something relatively similar on my push bike, but then discovered that the pesky little lip forms a nice reservoir for sweat, which iPhones don't tend to get on too well with

Fortunately this is not an issue on the Hog
