Default Street Glide suspension sucks?

I purchased a 2013 Street Glide about 3 months ago. When I purchased it there were several threads about" bad suspension" and "touring frame sucks", I have no idea what some of these people are talking about unless they are comparing it to a brand new car. I upgraded from a 2010 Street Bob and that wasn't really that bad. I am glad that there are so many opinions out here and that it shows ALL views of any subject, but I have to say my opinion is that the STREET GLIDE ROCKS! I have much respect to all you old hats that grew up on rigids. As always, thanks for all the knowledge that I have gained on this forum.

Cool. You're in Germany where the roads are perfect?

Northern CA actually has horrible roads. 2-up with 2" of suspension travel just doesn't cut it.

I haven't seen many perfect roads over here. Germany has semi's, farm machinery, and inefficient construction projects just like the U.S. They even have a sign that is used on the roads that says strassen schaden (shitty roads, lol)

I came off a newer Wide Glide, and the Street Glide feels like a sport bike compared to that. I did add the Arnott/Aldan rear shocks and that made it even better.

Good roads in Germany? lol. I know it's been awhile since I've been there, '82-84', but Germany like most European countries had horrible roads!! The only decent roads were the Autobahn. If you've been to Germany, most driving you do is not on the Autobahn.

Europe would be an excellent place to really judge and experience "suspension".

Being an international 2013 SG you should have the HD Premium shocks fitted from factory. You can set how hard or soft you want your shocks by removing the left saddle bag and turning the dial. I am in Australia and have the premium shocks from factory. I think they work just fine for when I ride solo or with the GF.

Agree that the stock Street Glide shocks are pretty good from the factory, however for an extra $thousand you can replace them with even better upgrades (but then you loose the air adjustability for different loads).
