Ok so my new to me Ultra Classic had a new radio installed before I picked it up from the previous owner. My bike is set up for intercom and I assume CB since I have 2 antennas. My question is: Can I use my intercom without the CB module?? When I try the button on the deck it says intercom not installed , see dealer. I don't care about the CB as much as I do the intercom. Oh it's a 2006 year bike with the H&K radio. Thanks for any advice!
If your bike has the intercom and CB installed, you don't need to go to the dealer. You go there only if you install the intercom yourself.
The intercom is turned on using the radio. The CB does not need to be turned on for the intercom to function.
Take it in and have the dealer update the radio. I had a 06 ultra, it had the CB and intercom, rode to Sturgis and everything worked great. Next day up there the intercom and CB wouldn't work and I got that message. Took it in and dealer updated the radio to the latest sortware version and all started working.
I'm not 100% sure the new radio has the CB module with it. I am just curious if the intercom function will work if it doesn't have the CB module. I just got the bike and don't really want to rip into the fairing to look for it. I am going to take it to the dealer and have them upgrade the radio soon. Thanks for the help everyone.

The CB is not "In" the radio. It is mounted on top of the radio. You can just take the headlight off and look on top of the radio. If there is a CB antenna wire connected to a box on top of the radio, the CB is there.

I know it's not in the radio , that's why it's called a "module". Let's say I take the headlight off and look and it's not there , will my intercom still function after I get the new radio flashed? Thanks for the tip to verify if the CB module is present. Sorry everyone this touring bike stuff is new to me. I am learning as I go!
