You will get lots of opinions on here about this subject all of which have been posted many times. When I installed the boom speakers I was impressed with the difference in sound but it wasn't everything I was looking for so I added an amp.
The quality in the boom speakers is much better then the stock ones, so if you are looking for something that will improve the sound, they will do just fine.

What he said, you can run them slightly louder (not a lot louder though).

They are plenty loud with out the AMP. Unless you want a ton of bass going down the road i dont see any problems with just the speakers. My stock speakers were horrible, and I put these in and it was like a million bucks difference.

I've had them on my 2009 for several years and I'm real happy with the improvement. I also added the Bass Kit when I was doing the install, but you don't have a Tour-Pak.
