We haven't had the snow and ice like some of you folks, but the rain, overcast skies and dreary weather is a bummer. Supposed to be nice on Saturday, so I may get some riding in. Have to leave for Dallas on Sunday, so if it rains, no loss.
got up this am 1degree with a -16 wind chill, add 2feet of snow,my electraglide went to dealer last month for 1000 mile service and dyno tune, should be able to try it out in a couple of months. when will winter end?
I hear what you're screaming. It's a toasty -14 here today with the wind chill. I have Harley fever sooo bad I was thinking of trailering my bike and driving as far south as I can get in one day...unloading, riding until my butt is numb, and trailering back home.
Now to make matters worse, I just got a call that Santa is on his way in the big brown truck bringing me my X-Mas present from PM!!! How am I going to be able to put the new wheels on the bike and not ride!!!
I am going stir crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I need to move far enough south to never see snow or ice again and be riding around in short sleeves in January and February.
Amen to what everyone has said -- sick of snow and ice. I've got plenty of parts for upgrades, but even the garage is too cold to work in (well, I could pull the wife's car out in the cold and heat the garage up to work on the bike, but there's no way SHE would ever let me do that).
I like the idea of trailering the bike and driving south, then riding till my butt gets numb. LMAO.
I really hate to say this, but I live in up-state NY, and i bought my first Harley last year in February. I had 1000 miles on it before May. Road 7700 miles last year too. I am an avid snowmobiler, and I have yet to register the sled or the trailer for the year. I have been working in Hickory, NC for the last week and a half, and it was sunny and 65 degrees on Monday. IT WAS KILLING ME TO SEE GUY RIDING DOWN HERE !!! My Harley is 700 miles a way in NY in my garage. I want to ride. Oya, and I will be in Dallas, TX for 6 days 2/24 - 3/2 and I am sure it will be even warmer there.
whats whis 'winter' thing i keep hearing so much about? it truely sounds facinating! hahaha, i lovvvve vegas....i am gonna go outside in my tshirt and shorts and wash the car now. then i am gonna go for a ride!
there is a downside though......june, july , and august.......you can ride, but you may wanna wait til 2 or maybe 3 in the morning.
What's really crazy is thinking that there are actually some days during the summer when it's TOO hot to ride - can that really be?? I have the winter blues big time - been riding all of my life and winters are definitely crappy. You don't hear a lot about so called global warming right now either - hahahaha.
