Handle bar spacers?

Is there such a thing? My reason for asking is that I switched out the handlebars/idle/throttle cables on my wife's SG (07) & extended the switch cables and now there is about a 1/4" gap between the master cylinder on the right side with the same sized gap on the left side . This gap prevents the lever from compressing or making contact with the brake switch button(s).

I didn't have this problem when I did my own SG... what did I do wrong?

Any help appreciated.

handle

hi. read that probleme some where.i think solution was to cut the bar at the end.because master cyl and swith have to be thigh .brake switch..mrfuji

I forgot to add the bars on both SGs are 12" yaffee bars. I hadn't though of cutting off any of grip area..will look into it.
