Possible rkc purchase
Greetings folks, Sudbury Ontario Canada here
Im excited about the purchase of my first HD I've been looking at an 07 road king classic and have a few questions
1. I have read in a blog (not on this forum)that the 07 in a lot of cases has excessive heat from the motor at idle sometimes to the point that it becomes very uncomfortable for the passenger and driver
2. I have read here about the 5th gear noise could you please explain the fix
3. is there any particular thing I should be looking at in the 07 RKC

hi ,welcome to the forum.the heat is coming from the rear cylinder header that goes next to your right leg.solution. true dual..fulsac..is the cheaper .or cap itch stuff.trany noise ..change with better oil.not harley stuff.nice riding bike..mrfuji

True duals is basically one exhaust pipe for each cylinder instead of one from the front and one "Y" shaped exhaust from the rear cylinder. So many opinions on this matter you will need to research yourself to conclude what you want. Personally I like the stock Harley Y pipe concept and feel that if an exhaust company like Vance and Hines offered it instead of it being stock people would buy the hell out of it.
As for the 5th gear noise it's not a problem, just the way the gear teeth are cut. I like it myself because I always know when I'm in 5th.

If I were going to buy a used Road King, I'd look at the newer ones with the 103"
motor. The 96" was good. The 103 is better. Sudbury is not known for its blistering hot summers. Do a search on line at some of the dealers here in New Hampshire, where I live. Some offer good deals. PM me if you see a bike down here that you like.I was up in Tobormory on the Bruce Peninsula last summer. Great place. Only Yank there.

I say if you like it, pull the trigger. I bought an 05' over 3 years ago and the only issues Ive ever had with it are things I've cause installing stuff!! LOL!! Seems like a good bike, go for it!!

hi. fulsac will send your rear pipe to the left side but elimitate the ..y..this is that pipe who give the heat on right side.capitain itch is a cover made of leather .remove your seat. trow is pad on frame put seat back.like heat deflector.as v, h,they make both style.mrfuji
