if you feel you are a competent wrench with your car/truck these upgrades are pretty simple. If you feel really nervous about doing yourself, the peace of mind you get by having trained tech do the work could be worth it. I did my own stage1 and am very happy with it. I also let the dealer install a few simple upgrades as part of my purchase because they did not charge labor, just dealer price for parts.

I'm not advocating one way or the other. Some things I do and most things I let the dealer do like my oil cooler, led turn signals and brake light, heated grips, boom speaker and amp upgrade kit, etc. The motor company's policy is (Harley) parts added during the first sixty days of a new bike purchase are covered under the manufacturers new bike warranty. Since I have a four year warranty I opted to have those parts installed by the dealer, especially the heated grips which I see seem to quit working on a regular basis. Other stuff like a low profile windshield, backrest and bracket, luggage rack, etc I did myself. I can't tell you how many posts I've read about somebody doing their own mod and it turns into a big project/nightmare. If the dealer does the work it's on their nickel to get it right whatever it takes. all it takes is mo money.

This... That is an expensive light if it goes out. My 11 Fatboy Lo blew the headlamp, but it was stock.

Thanks for all the advise. I'm comfortable with doing all the upgrades like lights, changing footrest, back rest & entended clutch lever. I'm also comfortable with doing the exhaust and intake but the dealer wants to do a dyno of the bike. They are giving me 20% of all the parts I buy but wanting to charge an arm and leg for the labor (they stated I'm getting a discount there). Do you have to do teh dyno if you change exhause and intake or is it even worth doing?
