If you want to know what it feels like go sit on a Police Road King at a dealer or ASK an officer if you can sit on his to feel it. They do make it with and with out holes for the TBW.
There would be no sense to take all the time to cut those special holes in a regular set of Heritage bars when you can simply mount the ones made for the RK the have all the right cuts in the right places already. I have a 2006 Police Road King and a standard new Road King, the heritage style bars for the Road King are every bit as comfortable as the regular Heritage bars and/or the police ones. period.
Those Heritage style bars will be on the way to you first thing Monday morning. I think you are gonna really like them. Stock RK bars are too darn low and forward.

+1
Here's two pictures of me on my RK. Note the shoulder position and arm/hand position between the two. First one is with stock bars, second is with Heritage Style bars.
As much as I like my Heritage Style bars over the stock ones, I would love to have a set of true Heritage bars on my bike. I'm just not willing to pay the labor the dealer wants to swap them out, and cut the notches for the TBW. And I don't dare try it myself.
I just put Heritage bars (not Heritage style) on my '12 RK. All the cables fit and nothing had to be extended. The first difference between the two are the Heritage bars are not cut for the TBW so you'll need to put the notches in the right side grip and cut a hole in the middle of the bars for the cable to exit. I found it pretty simple to do with my Dremel just using the stock bars as a guide. The other reason i like the Heritage bars is they can stay in line with the forks and don't have to be tilted back to level you're hand position. If you search on here theres a pick comparing the two side by side in a vice and you'll see how different they actually are.
I'm very happy how they turned out.

Khromewerks30004 bars are very similar to Heritage bars and are TBW ready.........
Heritage style bars are perfect for me with my Tallboy seat. They are an easy install with existing cables. Here is a thread with step by step instructions illustrated with pictures. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...road-king.html
