My 07 FLHT STD. came with the black & hated them but not enough to spend any $$$$ to up grade. Now My 11 FLTRX has the silver & they are great, but when the sun is shinning over my shoulder it can be a beotch.
I have the silver ones on my '12 Street Glide and can't see them at nite for crap !! What's up with the RED GLOW ?? .. Definately can't see the radio at nite...

Changing your gauge colors can help. Red blue and white are the brightest colors. I have no issue seeing my gauges night or day.
The red glow is from the center LED's on the needle. This not something you pick up in person. The angle of the camera, and camera's inability to sort the colors out as well as our eyes. I have a extremely hard time with my Nickon DX-7 over my Iphone camera
Your radio, you can change the intensity of the LED background display.
Give me a call I can have your gauges back to you in about 5 days if you use priority mail shipping them to me.

A lot of your questions can be answered by visiting www.gaugemods.net
all you need to do is send me your Tach and Speedo (125.00) the other 4 gauges take a 194 led wedge bulb that you can install from superbrightleds.com 6.00 each
2006 and newer bikes
if you have more questions after visiting my website please feel free to give me a call.
Timmy, go for it. Very easy install.I just did mine in blue. Looks intimidating but actually very easy. Jim (gauge mods) does great work and colors match up very well. Makes gauges pop and way cheaper than new gauges.
