Default good deal or not on Limted, advice please...

thought it is a good deal but the more and more I think of it I'm starting to think it is not. A 2013 Ultra Glide Limited black with dealer gift card of $1500 out the door for $26,500. Tax here is 6.5% so basically it breaks down like this. I know the MSRP is $24,200, not sure if they add freight and prep to this or if it included in this. The way I see it is if you deduct the $1500 gift card it is like getting the bike for $25k out the door. Subtrack the 6.5% tax which is basically $23,550 for the bike which is only $650 less than MSRP. so the more and more I think about it, the deal is not that great? Am I missing something because the dealer is acting like it's a great deal and they shouldnt be doing it. If there should be freight and or prep on top maybe I'm closer to $1000 lower than MSRP? What is the typical negotiated sales price for a bike like this? Also first service is included if that means anything...... Thanks in advance!!!!

Now these were 12s

One at the beginning of the model year, one at the end
Both got the exact same bike, red/merlot two tones
Different dealers so any dealer can do this, it's just do they WANT TO

And the difference from 12 to 13 is like 280 or something like that

By my quick math, he deducted the $1500 gift card then charged you all the traditional fees and taxes. So you got 1500 off. Not really a bad deal plus the approximately $350 for your free service visit. i really dont think dealers are discounting much more than this especially at the beginning of riding season. Just my opinion.

Bikes are cheaper in December than they are in March-Sept

Last bit of info

This deal was an $800 deal for the dealership so they still almost made a grand even with this pricing

Well the other was purchased this past sept or oct, so again, it comes down to

DO THEY WANT TO DO THE DEAL

Because they CAN do the deal if they want to, no matter the time of year

Also ths was in Florida, so we ride year round we don't have that march-sept BS so by that theory we should be screwed year round

The truth is, they either want to sell it or don't

If they have a few maybe they do it, if hey have 1 and you are drooling over it in the showroom, then probably not getting this deal, but they CAN

The guy asked if he's getting a good or decent deal

Compared to what I know my buddy's bought theirs for, he's getting screwed!

Exactly, $21500 seems to be the lean end of the deal spectrum for a limited

Saying "screwed" may be a bit overkill.. Right? If normal delivery is 400 plus 650 under sticker and first service is worth 350 that's about 1400 under normal isn't it? Guess I could have tried to beat them up a bit more
