Default What is causing the floorboard feeling like its being slapped?

Took my 2010 Road King Classic out for a ride yesterday and noticed that when the RPMs reached 2800-3000 (regardless of which gear I was in) I would feel what was like something slapping the underside of my floorboard. I'm no gearhead, so I'm looking for any ideas that would cause it.

The rubber will sometimes come apart from the metal. Happened yesterday to my buddy's 09 UC.

Do you have a gremlin bell? Maybe one of those little bastard has attached itself to the bottom of your foot board. O:-)

Mine was doing it and could not find anything loose. I thought it was my Gremlin Bell but then my bell disapeared for someunkown reason. Figured someone needed it more than me. Then I developed a lil wet spot under the transmission only on long rides. Come to find out it was the exhaust bracket that is attached on the right side of the transmission cover. Re-tighten and leak and vibes are gone.

How close is your exhaust to your floor board mount? Mine shifted on me over winter one season and would do that exact thing. Quick adjustment of the exhaust and a shim between the mount and the frame for good meassure and back on the road vibration, gremlin and road troll free.

Do you feel it on the right side, brake side?. I get a thumping on my RH floorboard sometimes when riding my '00. I've checked the mounts, and they seem fine. I can't figure mine out. There's a few threads on the forum about it.
