Default Poly Bushings that don't require riser mod

So I've got everything I need to start installing my PYO 10" MBB's (hopefully get to it this weekend) on my 2012 Limited.

One of the recommendations I read here was to change out the rubber bushings for the stiffer polyurethane ones. Easy enough, got the parts (56298-03).

Now I'm reading in a couple threads that people with Batwing fairings are having to take about a 1/4" off the bottom of the risers because the combination of the larger diameter bars and the poly bushings being slightly higher than stock isn't allowing the switch cover to back on correctly (risers sit too high).

My question is, is there a set of Poly bushings you can buy that wont have this problem?

Please let me know what worked for you.

Thanks!

Default Poly Bushings

BillinSC,
I just finished putting heritage style bars on my RKC. While in there I also followed the general advice to put in the poly bushings.

I have ridden it 200+ miles now.

I think the poly bushings might be a mistake. I believe that while you gain "road feel" you also gain vibration at every RPM.

My RKC was very smooth, off idle, now I can feel some vibration through the handle bars.

Just say in'.

Hmmmmmm, now ya got me wondering if I should just stick with the stock ones?

I'm only going with 10" MBB's and I've read others posts saying they also didnt change bushings and didn't really notice any difference.

I could see definitely upgrading with 14" or higher but with 10" Im starting to wonder.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think the threads you are seeing are related to the RK. I did them for my 10 MBB and had no issues other than trimming some rubber off the gaskets that are attached to mini faring for the ignition. Its worth doing them I originally installed them with the stick and noticed alot of movement when I changed them out it made them nice and stiff and no you dont get anymore vibration than the stock
They are designed with that thicker top and bottom so they isolate better.

Yeah I had to shave the piece your describing but it had more to do with the bars being thicker than anything else. I just ground it down real careful like...no big deal. Take a look you really cant tell.....
