exaust advice and optins
I want to add pipes to my 07 road king police
It has stock exhaust now with the baffles out.
Thats how I bought it, I really dont like it at all.
I had Reinhardt's headers on my 04 flhrsi and loved the performance and the tone but I cant afford 1k$ for pipes right now.
I was looking at their slip ons, can I just take off my stock mufflers and add the Reinhardt slip on's on their place to my existing exhaust?
I plan to either powder coat or paint them, black, unless I can get them black then I just have to do the existing remaining stock exhaust to match.
Are there any less expensive good performing and sounding pipes that guys are running and liking?
I know Vance makes some but I dont know about too many others.
I would like to hear from anyone running pipes they like the sound of that wont break the bank.
In time I am going to most likely make another change but for now I just want to get some good tone and a nice match for my big sucka air breather.

I think it comes down to price, sound and popularity. When I was deciding I didn't have a clue and started spending more money than I actually had. Many suggest you listen closely when at a rally to all the different sounds and brands. I've tried some of the less expensive pipes but you end up with quality issues. I finally decided on a pipe where you can remove plates that changed the db levels to the sound closest to what I was looking for. Often times you really cant tell what it sounds like until someone is actually test driving your bike and you realize, wow that sounds cool. Thats what happened to me when I had my bike test ridden by a dealership. When the tech rode off was the first time I actually realized damn I'm there and didn't even know it.

yeah thats a good point, you rarely hear them from behind.
Well I like the Reinhardt s and if I can just add the slip ons to my existing system that would be cool, but I see cfr, vance ovals and others that are 1/2 the price and I wonder.
Im going to be doing a full build over 2 years and I will be getting different pipes later anyway so I really want a slip on muffler or a system that sounds deep and is under 400$ that I can use for a year or two.
If I have to go $400 ill just get the Reinhardt slip on's
