Not to hijack the thread, but when I was on the Yamaha forum a guy showed a home made baffle that had a bolt that ran down the center of it with nuts holding space washers inside the entire center of the baffle. He claimed by removing or adding washers you could make it louder or quieter depending on the sound you perceive to be the sweet spot. Anyway getting back to you question even if someone responds with a yay or nay your ears are likely to hear differently even if you can hear it on a youtube video....it's strange but true.

yeah washer baffles have been a trick used for a long time
I have seen many baffles but I guess what I'm really trying to figure out is how they work. What part of them in back pressure? What part of them is quieting things down. What I think I understand is that MGS's loud baffles are half perforated and half solid pipe. So which half is solid pipe?
