because you don't have to lock your ignition/forks every time you stop or run the risk of someone just hopping on, turning the ignition on, and riding off on your bike......
I don't have to do that, either...all I have to do is get off the bike and push the fob if on the Heritage, or just get off the bike and walk away on the EG...bike is disabled, alarm is set, and the siren goes off if someone messes with, OR RUNS IN TO, the bike. Had THAT happen as well.
That guy has ***** putting Harley's name on his packaging.
You know the mothership will catch them all eventually, they protect the brand pretty well and dont let anyone get away with using their name without paying a fee
Looks like a waste of $20. My RS siren was $5 and I had the wires in the tool box. I didn't use any connections. I just stripped the wires and plugged them into the harness. Haven't had any issues.

well, obviously you have security then. i was answering your question as to why you would want security if you didn't have the alarm also. and that is why. regardless as to whether or not the bike will scream at you, it won't start, and you don't have to lock it. i don't see an issue.....
I recently read a thread somewhere about a guy frying his ECM with a radio shack siren. I cant remember where, nor do I know if its true but be carefull
I read about the $20 ebay siren here. Bought one on Monday and got it this morning (Friday.) I bought it for the ease of install, and its exactly what you would expect. Plug it in, zip tie it, and your done. Install took me all of 3 minutes... literally. Works great. Sure I could have saved money by getting the Radio Shack siren and messing with the wires. However, the time I saved not soldering and messing with wires was more time in the saddle this afternoon, and I have a damn clean install. Recommended.
Looking to add a siren this spring to my 06 SG. The plan was to run to radio shack for the $6 siren and few dollar wire pins but time gas and fiddling around with wires I searched ebay for a siren and found this option. It looks to have the end that plugs into stock end on the bike. Just thought I would share my cheap find with you all. Going to order one up soon. Anyone try one any issues with it?
Tried going to the link and the listing page states 'This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.' A little strange, since it also says that there are 10 available and 49 sold. Did the seller get nervous based on some remarks made in a post here and pulled the product?
I think the legal disclaimer at the bottom of the listing is longer than the one when I bought my last house!
