Default Progressive 944's & FL-XIED's

Just got back from a 50 mile test ride with my 2010 SG after I installed the 944's heavy duty springs, I'm 6' 270 lbs, wow what a difference, It took the bumps much better than the air shocks plus it just seemed to ride better to me, I tried the softer set up first and then a stiffer setting to 1 line showing, I liked it a little stiffer. I also added the FL- XIED's mainly to cool the bike down which seemed to do the job but it was only 64deg here today, I had them on my 08 SG and they worked great hoping to get the same results since it has a cat....

I had them on my 08 SG also, they do what they say, bike runs cooler, I'm leaving Cat in, I see no reason to cut it out, stock pipe with Rinehart muffler and to me it sounds good my riding buddies agree.

Not sure Xied's will be compatible with cat. It will send extra fuel to richen the mixture. Cats need a lean mixture to heat to a proper temp to clean up emissions. With the extra fuel the cats will most likely overheat and fail.

The bike does feel cooler to me and runs fine but I do understand where you're coming from, makes sense.

An article on whether or not the XIED damages cats, for what it's worth.

I put them in my '13 RKC and have no worries about it.

I have been thinking of putting XIED's on mine vs a tuner. Already had my cats removed so don't have to worry about that issue. Just looking to take some heat out and sounds like these might do the job.

Thanks JAYC67, that was a great article, I was thinking about taking them out and calling Nightrider.

Have the XIED'S on my 2012 Limited with cat in. No issues and got the blessing from Nightrider to use them on my stock setup.
