I have a breathable and vented Feildsheer jacket, going on its 7th season, still waterproof, zero leaks, comes with removable liner and was under $200 and worth it. A good waterproof jacket with a liner isn't gonna be 4 season though, at least none I have tried are.
I bought the Harley Switchback jacket. It says water-resistant but I rode thru level 5 thunderstorms with my iphone in the top pocket and not a drop. I very rarely wear any rain-pants. I bought the jacket big enough that I can change under-layers based on the warmth I'm looking for.
I second the Harley Switchback. Base mess with zip-out outer panels that are water-resistant. Armor on elbows and shoulders. Rode in 30 - 115 degree weather and no issues. Its my go-to jacket for touring. That with a heated liner/gloves in the saddle bag my upper body is covered for most anything. Pants are kevlar blue-jeans, long johns and if required leather outer pants.
I also carry rain gear since its so small and light. At most just use the pants because the jacket is enough - I know I live in sunny (NOT!) Portland Oregon
+2 for the Tourmaster Air Intake. I have the third edition and it has been an awesome jacket! Rode it all summer in temps up to around 85 and then also rode it snowmobiling during winter with no problems getting cold at all. Really is an awesome all around all season jacket.
Check Revzilla
they have great reviews on all types of jackets and pants, not just HD branded
they have great prices as well.
Personally I like Revitt if I'm touring.
Klim also makes goretex stuff that is great quality.
None of its cheap, but neither is all this chrome crap we put on our bikes and I like to be comfortable.
5 - 6 years ago I purchased a H-D "Authority" jacket. It is far and away the most functional jacket I own (I have 3 others).
From the Rockies to Fla; from snow & sleet to 70+ degree weather, this is my go to jacket by far.
Thanks for all the replies gentleman. I'm actually leaning toward an HD jacket and really for no other reason than I don't have a single piece of clothing with HD on it. I'd like to have at least one thing. I'd have T-shirts and whatnot but dealers want a a crazy amount of cash just for a t-shirt and most of the time their dumb looking logos are across the back of them. I'm leaning toward the FXRG Textile (98378-12VM). It looks like exactly what I'm looking for and appears very versitile with regards to all season riding. The reviews are pretty good for it. I'll make a final decision soon.

I have the HD Switchback jacket as well and love it. With the right layers it is very warm, warm enough to wear well below 40 degrees. Unless it's super windy, I wear this jacket instead of my leather one most of the time.
