Default Front motor mount source

OK, just discovered that my 04 Road King motormount is shot. Didn't see it until I had it up on the lift. No wonder it wiggles in turns, and tries to shake my eyeballs out idling at a light.

Read and read, and see that it looks like the Buell mount is the good one to go with (L0501.2 or L0501.8). Yes, it may fail early, but it's far less vibration prone than the current Harley replacement.

But, where on earth does one locate one of these pieces? That's the magic part of the puzzle I'm missing. Harley dealer wants to sell me the new Harley part, which I don't want. Can't locate a source for that Buell mount.

Where does one go for this mount?

And am I confused and really don't want this? Is there something else out there that actually works better? Vibration is my big concern. I do *not* want vibration.

Consider the fact that you are riding a rubber mounted Twin Cam 88, vibration is something that you will always have in spades regardless of the model of front motor mount you install.

You will not find an L0501.2 as it was replaced a while back by the L0501.8. You can find the L0501.8 motor mount on ebay.

Dont tell HD what its for, give them the p/n and buy it.
Drag Spec still carries the old style mount & perhaps J&P Cycle does as well
There should be a few on Ebay

Aren't those aftermarket (drag and J&P)? Are they as good as the oem parts? I'm fine being cheap, just don't want to accidently waste time with junk. The few I found on ebay just didn't look good or quite right.

As for vibration, while the engine certainly shakes the bike around at idle, it's silky smooth as soon as I rev up and start moving. That was a big factor in my decision to go with a Harley instead of a Honda this time. Shake is ok, buzzy vibration is not.

I couldn’t find it either so I went with the HD one.
It did reduce the vibrations.
PS. Mine didn’t come with instructions so: the rounded top of the mount goes up and the flared bottom is the bottom.
If you loosen the two bolts holding the motor mount in place (on the motor), remove the link bolt from the left side (near the shift leaver), jack up the motor, the mount falls out without any problem. It takes about 30 to 45 min to do this work. Also I took a hint: tighten the motor mount bolts (on the motor), and the link bolts to specs. Lower the motor and hand tighten the motor mount center bolt and two side bolts. You can leave the bike on its side stand or on a lift, start the bike and let it idle, as its idling tight the mounts bolts to specs. This should keep the motor aligned and reduce the viberations.

I replaced the 'rubber' Harley front motor mount on my 2001 Ultra with a Glide-Pro urethane compound front motor mount. I was very pleased with it. It is beefier than stock and was a piece of cake to change. They even obtained a US patent for it. check out their website @ http://glide-pro.com/glide-pro.html.

Yup, Glide-Pro! I replaced my front mount with one and the difference in vibration was HUGE.

The current Harley ones are fine, but there are plenty of alternatives. I do wonder if there is actually only one manufacturer!
