Default Ear plugs?

Did a 475 mile run and after I got home that night my ears were ringing. Got up in the night and was a little off balance . I guess the noise affected my inner ear thus affecting my balance. Has anyone else experienced this and how many wear ear plugs on long rides? I ordered some "Skull Screws" and will be wearing them on our next long ride.

what type of helmet do you wear? I have tinnitis from the marines....I'm so used to it now....but wind noise bothers me sometimes.

Was it the noise, or do you have some form of inner ear infection? If you didn't have any previous signs of tinnitus before...I'd say you've got something else affecting your hearing/balance...JMO.

I always wear earplugs on long rides. I just use the cheap foam plugs sold in gun shops. They're cheap enough to use once and throw away.

I agree......loss of balance may mean something else is going on.

I use ear plugs most rides. Get them from my work. You can actually hear your pipes and tunes better with them in.

Your exhaust setup doesn't seem as though it should be excessively loud to me. I have the D&D Fatcat with the 'performance' baffle, and it's LOUD. I would suspect wind noise before exhaust in your case, or possibly a case of tinnitus. Use the plugs and see if it gets better. If not, I'd go to a hearing specialist. Good luck.

I hate wind notice and I wear a 3/4 helmet. I've tried the foam ear plugs but the don't stay in my ears. Sooner or later they get loose. But I've never had any side effects from the noise. I'm more worried about it damaging my hearing.

I wear ear plugs all the time, I wear them anytime I'm around noise cutting the grass, power tools etc.

I have a bunch of reusable and just wash them between uses.

Moldex Rockets, very comfortable ...my dealer has them for $2.50 a pair.
