I can't stand the little f'ng rocks that make their way into the fins.
I took mine off and the best way to remove the debris and straighten the fins was to cut the edge of an old credit card and run it through the fins.
It was a winter project but debris gets all up in thy *****!
Glad you got it installed!
Yeah, that's why I originally asked about putting a screen over the cooler before installing the cover. I live on over 6 miles of gravel road. Got chastised pretty good for that question as well! Read the former post! Oh well, we'll see how it goes.
You're definitely not going to stop the sand and just road grit despite what you put over it and people who say their fins are bent or they don't have trash in their fins are full of *****.
Is it an absolute necessity, probably not....Does it drop oil temperature, which is a good thing on an air cooled motor, sure does! I put one on because I wanted to, simple as that!
Nope, I run the earlier version without the thermostat and tied it into my dash switch. I use to turn it on and off but now I see no disadvantage to just leaving the fans run all the time. I know I can retrofit a thermostat, but see no need in my case.
