This has happened to me a few times where I forgot to close my saddlebag all the way before jumping on the bike and taking off. This time was because of a water stop.
We stopped and I got off my bike, opened the saddlebag and got a bottle of water out and put the lid back into position without closing it, I just laid the lid on top of the lower with out latching it. Maybe i thought that I wasn't going to finish the water and put the bottle back in the saddlebag but in either case I didn't and when I left, I jumped on the bike and went. It wasnt until 75 miles later that I reached down (out of habit) to check the lids and found one loose. I have done this enough times now that I can get the tabs set and the latched pushed down. but still, I was lucky and I didn't loose anything and the lid never actually opened all the way and found itself flopping around in the wind and the bumps.
I left my leather bags undone a bunch of times.... But not my hard bags.... But I've only had them since December, given enough time and opportunity I can foul anything up - it's a gift I guess
Once or twice, maybe a dozen times. Amazingly enough, never when it was raining. Have had a cage beep and point going down the highway to alert me. Kinda humbling to say the least. Heck of it is never had anyone to blame but myself.
Yep, a few times.. to both tour pak and saddlebags. Get going down the road and start hearing a slight rattle. I keep going, listening to the rattle trying to figure out what it is with no luck. Finally decide to pull over and voila, my bag is unlatched. duh.
