Yeah, looks like I'll have to get it towed to the dealership. I just hope it's an easy fix, as I'm supposed to set off on a 3,000 mile trip on June 1st.

Take both battery leads off of the battery and use a jumper wire from each side of your wire one side at a time and ground it on a non painted surface. Put everything back together. Check to make sure your connector behind your breather is snug and also check your ecm plug under your seat is connected tight. Did this make any change.

Ok, I failed to mention I am running a Power Commander 5. I checked to make sure all the connections are snug, then tried to restart it. It started rough again, then died after about 5 seconds with a puff of black smoke coming out of the A/C.

Are you running stock exhaust and air breather?

Take the power commander out of the picture and see how it responds. Maybe the PC is the problem.

I disconnected the PC then plugged it back in to make sure it was secure. I'll disconnect it and see how that goes...

Once you get the issue resolved, get some dielectric grease and smear a little on the connectors of ECM, PC5, and the connector that attaches to the throttle body at the 9 o'clock position.

Also, flip the run/stop switch to run, turn on the ignition and right away hit the start button.

The bikes with PC's seem to start a lot easier that way. In fact, I'm running a Rev Performance EMS and just started the above starting sequence today and found my bike started a lot better then letting the fuel pump power up all the way.

When you "cleaned" it, did you use a garden hose or a pressure washer? Both of those options seem to cause a fair number of problems.
